About the film

This film, a personal essay, is an attempt to capture a slice of a people's history of the historic farmer's movement that laid siege to New Delhi in 2020-2021. Apart from showing the farmers' resilience, courage, and political consciousness, the film also raises questions about the inherent contradictions of a consciousness that is not holistic, that does not encompass compassion for all oppressed sections of society.

About the director

Rajkumari Asthana studied filmmaking in Boston and Cuba at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV. Asthana's other films include 'Jal, Jangal, Zameen', a documentary on the people’s struggle against the Koel Karo project in Jharkhand, and 'Whilst I Slept, Palestine', made as a part of the Global March to Jerusalem.
