About the Film
Sun-kissed skin and forbidden dreams. Abir, yearning for the sea, hatches a daring escape with her spirited friend Nur. Their Gaza summer explodes with the thrill of rebellion, as laughter mingles with the rumble of distant bombs. Will their audacious plan for a dip in the azure waters wash away the fear, or will reality shatter their fragile oasis of freedom?
About the Director
Manu Gómez graduated in image and sound and completed higher film studies. He has served as an assistant director in more than twenty feature films. His directorial debut, the short film "Hilarri," won the Grand Prize for Basque Cinema at the Bilbao Film and Documentary Film Festival in 2000. His subsequent short film, "Das Kind" (2013), has earned more than fifty international awards and over two hundred selections at festivals worldwide. In 2021, he released his first feature film, "Once Upon a Time in The Basque Country." Currently, he balances his professional activities with teaching, holding a position as a professor at the Madrid Film Institute.
