About the film

In the backdrop of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), the state of Assam is facing a humanitarian crisis due to an environment of uncertainty, anxiety, and fear, as people would rather die than be sent to detention centers for being unable to establish their citizenship. The documentary traces the struggles one such Indian citizen faces as an 'illegal immigrant' declared by the state. The film explores the state of mind of a person on the verge of losing his nationality and consequently losing almost everything he has. His broken hopes cause turbulence in his mind, while the serene beauty of Assam and his humble lifestyle paint a contrast against this inner tempest.
