About the film
The Sundarbans, the Cyclone Capital of India, are under constant threat—from both natural and human-made causes. Every year, thousands of people become homeless. They dream of living anew, even under adverse circumstances, but where do they go? Under these conditions, with no escape, they continue to dream desperately.
About the director
Raktim Mondal is a graduate of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. He has shot movies, commercials and documentaries with directors like Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Ketan Mehta, Sujit Sarkar and R. Balki. 'Dream for Livelihood' is his debut documentary film, as a director and producer.
