About the Film
It’s a film about the journey of the director, who is searching for Adawasi culture and life in reference to Ritwik Ghatak’s film Ajantrik. Ritwik Ghatak made Ajantrik in 1957, and it was shot in Jharkhand. The film is trying to find out what the central idea of the film was and why Ghatak chose this area as the backdrop of the film. This also looks into the contemporary socio-political situation and relevance of Ajantrik today.
About the Director
Meghnath is a filmmaker and activist working in Jharkhand for the last 40 years. He has been with the people’s struggle against destructive development. As a filmmaker, he has tried to document the voice of those sections of people who remain unheard. Meghnath was awarded the prestigious 59th National Film Awards for the film Iron is Hot and Ek ropa Dhan and 65th National Film Awards for the film Naachi Se Banchi.
