About the film

In 1971 during the liberation war of Bangladesh a brutal genocide was conducted by Pakistani Military Forces and their local collaborators. 3 million people were brutally killed, 2,00,000 women were raped, but this gross violation of Human Rights and War Crimes were never properly recognized by the world community. The trial of the War Criminals was started by Bangladesh Government in 1972 but stopped in 1975 due to a major political change. In 1993 a nonpartisan social movement was started by a group of freedom fighters, intellectuals and social activists for a proper trail of War Criminals. The film ’71 Still Now traces the history of this social movement for justice which reached its pick in 2013, when thousands of young people joined the movement- famously known as Sahabag Movement.
