ABOUT THE FILM
Mann, a 13-year Pardhi boy, lives with his mother and two siblings. His mother rears goats and does odd jobs to support the family. His thela (pushcart) holds a special place in his heart, like a cherished family member. With his trusted thela by his side, Mann earns daily wages, has some fun and also tries to study. But one day, a day which starts like any other day, Mann loses his trusted friend.
ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
We are the second generation of the ‘Ektara Collective’, an independent and autonomous group of individuals dedicated to merging creative efforts and imagination. Our aim is to collaborate with both trained and untrained individuals to produce fiction films that are rooted in our realities and experiences, both in terms of content and aesthetics. Having previously assisted in Ektara’s films, we have now taken on the responsibility of creating our own short stories.
DIRECTORS’ STATEMENT
“Our film unfolds against the backdrop of Bhopal in current times. The societal prejudices towards the Pardhi community are highlighted, as they work hard yet face denial and discrimination. The daily battles fought by Mann and his mother raise questions about society’s sophistication and prompt viewers to question the societal norms and biases depicted.”
