ABOUT THE FILM
Set in the mountain communes, ‘Chabila’ tells the story of a family of the nomadic Labhan community. Their traditional occupation is working in the stone mines for very low wages. Unable to make ends meet, children also work. A mother, Jana, wishes to change this fate for her son Ganya.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Anil Amrut Bhalerao is a Marathi filmmaker with a passion for storytelling, especially the stories of those neglected by the mainstream society. He has worked as an assistant on National Award-winning films such as ‘Dhag’, ‘Paani’ and ‘Bhonga’.
