About the film
Ganga and her husband Rajkumar work as seasonal sugar cane cutting labourers who work on a contract basis. They leave their village, migrating from one place to another. Accompanying them is their ten-year-old son Ganesh. The film shows how Ganga, herself educated till the third standard, overcomes the problem that arises from Ganesh’s frequent absenteeism from school.
Filmmaker's Statement
I was very much sad about the education system in the state and the increasing problems faced by those who migrate for work and want to ask questions of the State.
About the director
Santosh Ram is an Indian Director, Screenwriter and Producer based in Pune. He has done his Post Graduation in English Literature. He developed an appreciation for cinema while studying Literature. His debut short film, Vartul (Circle) travelled to over fifty-six film festivals across the world, winning thirteen awards. He was one of the curators for the 11th VIBGYOR Film Festival 2016 Thrissur (India).
