About the film

Through the story of Raj Singh, the marginal peasant, who gave his all to raise a crop, but eventually, didn’t harvest it because it was much better to abandon the crop than to spend more time and money on its harvest, storage and sale; and the farmer who consumed poison, but, eventually didn’t die – ‘Taapar’ (‘Scorched’) explores their aspirations amidst the ongoing crisis depicts the several problems that have engulfed farmers and their families for decades now, and raises the question of a solution.
